PAYMENT
The rates include an 11% VAT (Value Added Tax) and city tax (€2.7 / ~$3 per night). Should the VAT or city tax change, so will the rates accordingly.
Price Change
Hrífunes Nature Park reserves the right to change its rates in case of economic changes, such as currency fluctuations, inflation or increased cost of supplies. Rate changes will never affect bookings which have already been confirmed.

You can make a reservation via our website 24 hours a day, all days of the week. Our reception ( The Fox Hostel) is open from 4PM – 10: PM.
Arrival Time
If you are staying at the Cabins, please inform Hrífunes Nature Park of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact us directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
In Writing
Bookings shall be made in writing.

1. Smoking inside the accommodation not permitted.
2. Pets are not allowed.
3. All children are welcome at the cabins.
4. For staying in the cabins, a crib for children under 2 years is provided for free.
5. An extra bed for older children or adults is provided for EUR 50 per night at the cabins. The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 1.
6. Any type of extra bed or crib is available upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.
7. Additional fees are not calculated automatically in the total cost and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
8. Always handle the cabin and hostel inventory carefully to prevent permanent marks or damages.
9. Staying at the cabin, you are obligated to read the instructions before using the hot tub and sauna.
10. Please do not leave trash around or in nature.
11. When staying in the cabin, before leaving, please start the dishwasher.
12. Please do not use shoes inside the accommodations.
13. If you need more towels, please contact the staff.
14. In case of an accident or damage, contact the staff.
15. After your stay in the cabin, please put the trash outside the door and lock the keys in the key safe beside the entrance door.
Hrífunes Nature Park may collect personal information about customers (i.e. age, residency etc.) to further the service provided. This may include names, e-mail addresses or other information. The information will never be given or sold to a third party.
Hrífunes Nature Park may contact you via your provided email. If you do not wish to receive e-mails from us, we will remove your e-mail address from our file immediately.
Hrífunes Nature Park is not responsible for any injuries or losses sustained whilst customers visit Hrífunes Nature Park, whether the booking was made via the Hrífunes Nature Park website or a third party.
We recommend all customers purchase a travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances and study in detail all locations that are to be visited, beforehand.
Information
If you wish to use the hot tub, be aware that this takes about 4-5 hours to prepare. If you are staying only one night and arrive late, we recommend you to enjoy the sauna instead.
You are supplied with wood enough for one bath per day. If you wish more firewood you can buy this from us. Give us a call or send us a message, and we will deliver you a new batch of firewood. The price is 5000 ISK.
Do not heat the hot tub without water
Always double-check that the hot tub is filled with water before starting the heating. All houses should have a hot tub that is already filled with water. IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT START HEATING BEFORE THE HOT TUB IS FILLED.
Heating
Fill the oven with firewood and light it up. You should have some matches in your drawer, if not, send us a message. Try to keep an eye on the fire and make sure there is enough wood in the oven at all times. That way, the heating will be quicker. Heating the hot tub takes about 3-4 hours.
After use
When you are finished using the hot tub, please empty it out so it will be ready for the next guest.
In case of fire, use the fire blanket located above the oven, or the fire extinguisher in the hallway.

Not refundable for cancellations made 30 days or less before check-in.
Hrífunes Nature Park holds a reservation for 24 hours after the expected check-in time of the guest if no cancellation has been received. After that, Hrífunes Nature Park reserves the right to rent the facility to a new customer.
In the unlikely case of a dispute between Hrífunes Nature Park and a customer, or those who consider themselves a party to this agreement or other general terms and conditions, the District Court of Reykjavík will be the settler. Icelandic laws apply to the relationship between the customer and Hrífunes Nature Park.
Updating terms
We reserve the right to update our terms without notice.
Force Majure
Notwithstanding anything else herein contained to the contrary, Hrífunes Nature Park cannot be held liable for delays or cancellations that are caused by events that are beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of civil or military authority, acts of terrorism, insurrections, peace or army action, civil commotion, demonstrations, natural disasters etc.
